Biography

Hawk Koch is a veteran movie producer and the former President of the Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences and the Producers Guild. At the Academy,Hawk spearheaded the call for diversity,launched the first ever general membership meeting, sharpening the focus on member engagement. While President, AMPAS green light the new Academy Museum of Motion Pictures, started digital voting, gave Casting Directors and Costume Designers their own branches, and now give Animation Producers an Oscar along with the winning Animation Director. At the Producers Guild he and his Co-Presiden Mark Gordon secured the p.g.a. Mark at all the studios and independents. Restoring the value of the producer credit to all real working Producers. Hawk has been intimately involved in making over 65 major motion pictures, among them Chinatown,Waynes World,Heaven Can Wait,The Way We Were,Marathon Man, Primal Fear, Source Code,Peggy Sue Got Married, and Rosemary's Baby. His Colleagues and collaborators include many of the greatest filmmakers of all time, including Sydney Pollack, Alan Pakula, Warren Beatty, Francis Coppola, John Schlesinger, and Roman Polanski. Hawk serves on the boards of The Motion Picture and Television Fund, AMC Theaters, and Cast and Crew.
